50 of London’s employers were awarded the MOD’s top employer award this year. The award ceremonies for both Gold and Silver Employer Recognition were held at the prestigious Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, London.
These awards recognise the outstanding support for our armed forces people from employers across London. The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) acknowledges those organisations which actively demonstrate support to the armed forces community.
The nominations were considered by a selection board at the national level for Gold and regional level for Silver.
Going for Gold
10 employers from across Greater London were recognised for their outstanding support to the UK’s Armed Forces.
They all received the ERS Gold Award. It represents the highest badge of honour and is awarded to organisations which employ and support those who serve, veterans and their families, and advocate for defence people.
Silver Success
40 London Employers struck Silver in the 2022 regional Defence ERS Awards.
To gain this award companies must show tangible evidence of their proactive support of service personnel and the armed forces community, demonstrating that neither is unfairly disadvantaged as part of the organisation’s recruiting and selection processes.
What is the Employer Recognition Scheme?
The Defence ERS encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the AFC.
