D-Day 80

600 Squadron Executive Officer, Squadron Leader Alisa Rebbeck and her husband FS Andrew Carter (retired) were invited to experience D-Day 80 celebrations in Portsmouth. Commemorations on the day included a Red Arrows and Typhoon flypast, concert and the King and Queen were in attendance on the momentous occasion.

Normandy Visit

Cadets from South West London Army Cadet Force embarked on “Overload 80 Venturer” in Normandy, France.

The group visited the new British and Commonwealth cemetery laying a wreath in memory of the fallen soldiers. Unveiled on 6th June 2021, The British Normandy Memorial names 22,442 brave souls from over 30 countries. Cadets also had the opportunity to visit the Pegasus Bridge to learn about the Allied Forces, the Canadian memorial at Juno Beach and the famous US landing beach, Omaha.
