Flag raising for Armed Forces Week, June
Every year, members of the forces including Reserves, Cadets, Veterans and representatives from Military Charities attend the City Hall and Guildhall flag raising to recognise the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community from currently serving troops to Service families, Veterans and Cadets. Last year, Mayor of London; Sadiq Khan said: “ I am proud to welcome representatives from our Armed Forces to City Hall today to acknowledge their tireless bravery and dedication to keeping us safe”.
SSAFA 13 Bridges Walk, June
SSAFA’s 13 Bridges Walk is London’s premier event for Armed Forces Day and an opportunity for companies and individuals to show their support for Armed Forces Day while raising funds for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity supported by HSBC and KPMG.

Annual Army Cadets camp, August
Every year cadets come together to enjoy a trip away, developing vital life skills and gaining new experiences.
Saragahri Day, September
On 12th September 1897, 21 Sikhs fought to the last man defending a small communications outpost between two garrison forts, against 10,000 Afghan tribesmen. It is considered to be one of the most heroic battles and greatest ‘last stand’ in British and Indian military history. Every year Southall Reserve Centre hosts a family day out to commemorate and celebrate their amazing bravery.
Exercise Sharpe Shooter, October
Nine companies from across London competed in a series of challenges. By taking part in Exercise Sharpe Shooter companies can experience first-hand the transferable skills that Reservists can bring to the civilian workplace.
Challenge Wandsworth, October

Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Awards, November
34 London-based businesses were recognised for their support and commitment to the Armed Forces at a ceremony in the Cavalry and Guards Club, Piccadilly. All 34 companies received the prestigious silver Employer Recognition Scheme award (ERS) from senior officers from the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force.
